“Cannalope Haze” (also called “Cantaloupe Haze”) is a champion strain that was expertly designed to capture the essence of a landrace Sativa in a much more grower-friendly package.
- Lineage: It is a brilliant and potent cross between Haze Brothers and a Mexican Landrace.
- Haze Brothers (Original Haze): This is the legendary Sativa royalty. It’s a 100% Sativa hybrid of Mexican, Colombian, Indian, and Thai landraces, first developed in the 1970s. It’s famous for its soaring, energetic, and creative high but notoriously difficult to grow, with very long flowering times.
- Mexican (Michoacán) Landrace: DNA Genetics used a specific, fast-flowering Mexican Sativa from the Michoacán region. This parent is the key. It passed on its fruity, tropical notes and, most importantly, dramatically reduced the flowering time, making the Haze genetics manageable for indoor growers.
